Okay, I know about 10 people read this (let’s face it – relatively boring) blog because I’m not a theorycrafter, I’m not an expert at anything in the game and I have nothing of value to share – except hopefully a few laughs.
What the heck – I’m not even in the usual “demographic” one would expect to see in any game, never mind an MMO.
So I had a bit of a laugh when I got this ping back:
And speaking of Dark Ages: I’m surprised everyday that people still play and enjoy WoW. Some misinformed Draenei is sill in Azeroth under the belief that things are still happening there! Misadventures indeed.
Ummm…someone is “surprised everyday“ (emphasis mine) people still play and enjoy WoW?
I think someone’s been living under a gaming rock…
I believe Blizzard could confirm that yes, people still play WoW.
Although I don’t have numbers on how many enjoy it, I can speak for myself and say it’s the most fun I’d had in any game for years.
Don’t worry – I’m not “misinformed” one bit. I’m not blindly playing WoW like a mindless robot for whatever reason.
I’m actually kinda smart because I’ve known me for a long time and I know what I enjoy in a game and what I don’t.
I’m also smart enough to know opinions are not facts and ultimately worthless.
If WoW wasn’t fun, if there was nothing happening in the game and I didn’t enjoy it, I’d be spending my entertainment money somewhere else.
Yes, it’s that simple.
Now back to our regularly scheduled program.
Warlock – Taking Care of Business
Between /raging on Isle of Thunder and LFR, I’ve been working on a few other things to get my Warlock “caught up” in MoP.
I got exalted with the Tillers and I should get the last block of farm plots opened up today.
I don’t think I’m going for the entire cooking thing since I have a couple of characters already at max. Maybe I’ll just get the buff food level she’ll need.
I also finished up the Cloud Serpents rep because she needs to ride some of the fancy-pants serpent mounts I have gathering dust in my journal.
In between all this, I was queuing for every LFR I had left this week starting at the very bottom with Vaults to get Sigils of Wisdom and Power.
I was hitting the Sigil Jackpot.
I got 10/10 Power and 9/10 Wisdom.
I’ve got about 3 LFRs I can still run this week, so if my luck continues I’ll get the last Sigil and I can start the next RNG-fest part of the Legendary.
I know I’ve eventually got to get my Black Prince rep to Exalted so I’ve been doing a few Isle of Thunder dailies so the grind doesn’t seem as boring.
I had another chance to kill the Sunreaver and it dropped the pet so that made Isle of Thunder a little less horrible – for a whole minute.
Yeah, I forgot to use the Sacrifce talent *again* before getting into LFR and I’m still having a few issues with using the right abilities in the optimal order.
I’m also not sure about RoF – spam it all the time? Only after I use something else?
Apparently I’m also confused about a few other things. I need to just print out Koala’s advice and keep it handy.

ROTFL! I guess it’s so “last year” to still enjoy WoW. When people write stuff like that they just sound bitter and I’m not sure what WoW did to them, or didn’t do. Who knows.
Not only fishing luck but sigil luck too!

Don’t you know it! LoL!
It never ceases to amaze that some people think if you’re not a gamer “lemming” running off the cliff to every “best-greatest-game” that they happen to like well..there’s something wrong with you.
I blame FB 😀
Maybe peer opinion matters when you’re a kid, but after a certain age if you like a game and are having fun, who cares what other people think?

I don’t only play WoW, I just don’t play the other games as much because I play WoW better (I know how bad that sounds lol.)
I’ve actually been playing a little Hearthstone and I’ve picked up Diablo III for a bit because I like the changes and the Crusader sounds like fun.
TSW and GW2…I like the games and they are fun. I just got spoiled with WoW because I like having game friends to play with – something I don’t have yet in the other games.
It’s not that I don’t like them, it just gets boring playing by myself 😛

While they did nerf RoF, it is still useful to pop it down when you have a global available. You do need to have immolate up on the target for it to help, but since you should always have immolate up then you shouldn’t have a problem.
With Destro, there isn’t too much issue with using the wrong abilities in the wrong order. As long as your curse is up, and you don’t waste backdraft on chaos bolts, you are doing ok. It is just like Shadow Priest and other caster priorities after that.
I like to make sure I have a couple embers before I start firing chaos bolts off, especially when I use my dark soul ability. I also like to keep a couple ready when the boss starts getting close to 20% just so I can get off several Shadowburns right away.
What is your damage running?

Ooops…I’ve been using Backdraft for Chaos Bolts because they cast faster. At least I think it’s Backdraft….I’ve got Burning Embers and I think Backdraft on TMW so it pops up with a timer.
Yeah, I have to find a way to track Immolate other than the little icon under the portrait – that’s the one I keep forgetting to refresh 😛
I have Tidy Plates and it will show it on mobs but with all the spell effects and “stuff” thrown around it can be tough to see it sometimes.
Yup, I’ve been caught with my Embers down so I’m learning how to “time” them – when I can use them for something before Shadowburn because I know I’ll have enough time to get more before the 20%.
Damage is bouncing around anywhere from 32k-50k (high movement and I forget what I’m doing) to 100k (stand still and LoLBoom.)
Been playing around with the other fire thing but not sure if I have a handle on that yet or using it right.

Rizlah - Stormrage
Guy was just trying to get traffic to his blog. I would take it as a compliment. You are actively playing the game, providing insight to it, and giving us something entertaining to read. You are an active blooger with posts almost daily. Its better to leave a ‘blog marketing’ comment on an active blog than a dead one :-).
Im enjoying reading your warlock adventures. I boosted one also. Have you thought about doing pvp for 522 gear and the occasional 550 piece? I personally just do LFR and anything solo… so pvp gear has been a great way to get rid of the 483 greens while I work on SOO drops. A raid may only give you 1-2 items in a week, but you can grind out an entire honor set in a few days.
PvP isnt for everyone, but I honestly half ass played Isle of Conquest over the weekend (last weekends bonus BG) (2-3 hours a night), and got 522 shoulders/helm/mainhand/offhand and 550 cloak/bracers. Alterac Valley starts April 1, 90% alliance win ratio basically… in a weekend you can get a couple 550 pieces.
Sometimes pvp sucks… but when i upgraded my 496 bracers to 550 it was like +650 to intellect!!!

Just a little heads up about pvping as a warlock, you are the first class people gun for.
So if you think it is bad being a healer in a BG, think of the poor warlocks who are dying right away.
BUT! If you practice, you can RULE the bg as a lock. 😀
There is a reason people gun us down first ^_^b

Ha! They don’t scare me! I have a Void demon AND a sword! Well, not a sword yet but I can TRANSMOG one! 😀
Ummm..no PvP gear but I’ve got a Green Trinket!
Can I be Queen of the Battleground Warlocks?
No matter what class I have in a BG everyone is always gunning for me lol.

Hi Rizlah! I guess this means 11 people read my blog lol 😀
Yes, I wasn’t sure if the other blog was a “real” blog or just a marketing thing so that’s why I had a laugh.
Yeah…PvP…I’ll be doing the two BGs again for the Legendary but I can’t PvP my way out of a paper bag. I’m horrible at it and I really hate it 😀
I might see about getting a PvP trinket to replace my “epic” green one though. Not sure what I’d have to do to get it – maybe those Legendary BGs will get me Honor or whatever I need to get one!

LOL, well, someone really didn’t check on things – yep, we’re still out here playing WoW and rolling alts and playing some more – geez!! Don’t let some crank get you down.
As for your blogs, I read them every time you publish something – sometimes I laugh, sometimes I learn something “new” that I wasn’t aware of – I enjoy what you write.

Nah, it doesn’t get me down. It reminds me of all the “WoW is dying” forum threads every time a new patch, expansion or a new game is released.
I guess Blizz doesn’t know WoW died during Vanilla lol 😀
If it wasn’t for the game and this silly little blog, I would never have met some fantastic people and made some new friends 😀

Yep, I’ve met some really great people and made a few online friends in the process – still having fun with the game that “died” in Vanilla.

Sounds great! Weekends are the best for me – Sat/Sun afternoons or evenings (yeah, housework in the mornings lol)
Weekday evenings are okay too although I seem to get more “cat” interruptions than on weekends.

There are what, nearly 8 million people living under rocks still playing WoW? Sometimes in the morning if I wake up too fast, I forget and hit my head on my rock and it hurts. 😦

Me too – ouch!
I wish someone had told me the game was dead before I started playing 4 years ago… 😀

Hi 🙂
I sincerely apologize that my sarcasm was off the mark. My intention was a friendly jab and I definitely don’t see you or any other gamer who enjoys WoW as less, foolish, lost, or stupid. I have a bad habit of picking on bloggers and I meant no harm, though I fully understand I came off totally offensively. Forgive me.
And yes, I deserve the pile on here for my words 🙂 Just know that I only intended a friendly jab!

No need to apologize – I said I had a good laugh 😀
I tend to blog in peaceful obscurity so I was surprised to see the finger pointed at me lol.

Also forgot to add that I have a bit of reputation for digging on WoW players. I definitely do NOT think less or worse of people for playing WoW. I loved the game for 5 long, non-stop years so I get it and I don’t hate.

Hi! First time commenter here. I’ve been reading and enjoying your blog for a while now(not sure how I stumbled upon it). I am a casual wow player and I wanted to tell you that whomever wrote that is such a jerk and please don’t let him and people like him bring you down. Keep writing! I check for new posts every few days and am always happy when I see a new one. 🙂
