Hallow’s End
Halloween is my favorite holiday of the year, so I’ve been looking forward to this WoW world event since I started playing last December.
First day of the event I ran my Priest around to all the candy buckets to get the Tricks and Treats of Azeroth Achievement, picked up the quests for all the “easy” Achievements and ran the Headless Horseman daily – no mount but I wasn’t expecting it!
Still plenty of fun things to do and Achievements to earn!
Of course, every hour I would run to an Innkeeper for a Trick or Treat – unfortunately, all I received were tricks. So far I’ve been changed into a bat (twice), a frog, a snake and a skeleton – no treats for me!
I was hoping to get the Sinister Squashling pet as I needed only a few more pets for the Lil’ Game Hunter Achievement to get my Priest her Little Fawn.
Since I was low on gold after paying for the Master Flying, purchasing one of the expensive pets from the Auction House wasn’t an option (and my Oracle eggs kept hatching Tickbirds), so I decided to try for a dropped pet – the Deviate Hatchling from the Wailing Caverns.
I lucked out and got the pet after about 4 runs of just clearing the raptors.
I took a side trip to the Argent Tournament to do the dailies and scraped up enough Champion Seals to purchase the Quel’dorei Steed and one more pet.
I decided to get the Teldrassil Sproutling first because it has a fun little dancing animation and looks like a tiny Druid in tree form.
One pet left to go! I checked the Auction House again and found a Darting Hatchling listed for about 100 gold, so I purchased it and finally got the Lil’ Game Hunter Achievement.
And of course, the adorable Little Fawn pet.
I’ve been trying to get my Priest the Giant Sewer Rat by spending a couple of hours a day fishing with no luck.
I had been in the sewers a few days ago fishing for the Rat when another player ran in, tossed in two casts and fished up the Rat! Such is the luck of the RNG!
Oh well.
The second day of Hallow’s End I was getting more Treats than Tricks from the Innkeepers. I picked up a couple of Flimsy Masks, Toothpicks for That Sparkling Smile Achievement and the Sinister Squashling pet!
I love this pet – it’s definitely one of my favorites!
I had a few minutes to wait around until I could try for another Trick or Treat from the Innkeeper so I decided to take my Sinister Squashling to the sewers for a bit of fishing and surprise! The Giant Sewer Rat!
My little Sinister Squashling pet must be a good luck charm – maybe I’ll bring it out for the next Headless Horseman run to see if I get the mount!
