Okay, so I’m a slow starter….but last night I did two – count them – two Heroics!  And they were not bad at all.

First up was Heroic: Halls of Origination, followed by Heroic: The Vortex Pinnacle.

My dps wasn’t stellar but I’d say “adequate.”

A few times I broke 10k which was pretty good for me.  Unfortunately my dps drops like a stone if I’m moving so I have to work on hitting something (Devouring Plague, Shadow Word: Death) if I’m on the run.

Interestingly, I also noticed that my dps dropped to zero when I was dead (ha ha)…sometimes I was dead so fast I didn’t know what hit me (okay, so it was Static Cling….)

Luckily I was with some very patient guildies who talked me through it, so a big thanks for getting me through my first Heroics!

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

Cataclysm Dungeons

Cataclysm Dungeons

Looks a little thin, but I’ll get there.

And a big Congratulations! and thanks to all the guild raiders who completed Guild Glory of the Cataclysm Raider and unlocked the Dark Phoenix.

I had to “borrow” some gold from another character to purchase one, but it’s worth it.  Except the poor bird doesn’t have any legs!

I also decided to replace two Int/Spirit gems with the +40 Intellect gems, and I’m still not sure about my reforging and all those nasty numbers so I have a lot of work to do with what I’ve got so far.

I noticed I had made one mistake on my Spell Priorities, so when I corrected that my dps did go up a little.

I’ll need to spend some time at the Target Dummies, work on my key bindings and practice, practice, practice!

Who knows?  Maybe I’ll even queue for another Heroic.  I’m somewhat motivated at the moment because there is a nice Engineering Lightweight Bio-Optic Killshades I can make myself to replace my crappy helm until something better comes along, but I need a Chaos Orb.

I also need a Truegold and two Ocean Sapphires (I have the rest) but one thing at a time.

Not to mention all the dailies and perhaps farming for mats to sell so I can build up my depleted gold!

And the guild is running a few Classic Raids that are a ton of fun, so it looks like I’m going to have plenty to do for a while!
